We are delighted to finally answer the frequently asked question, “Are you going to open a store front soon?” with a big “YES, WE ARE AND NOW WE ARE OPEN!” We can’t wait to be a part of your daily routine and interact with our amazing customers every day! Our vision will hold true: to provide our community with high quality artisan foods, and now we get to expand that vision to include a full-service bakery and café.

Imagine a place you can come see familiar faces, sip locally roasted coffee with a hot cinnamon roll (right out of the oven!) and later swing by for fresh sandwiches on amazing crusty bread with a cup of soup or a vibrant salad for lunch. Our vision is to offer a full line of house made pastries- think fresh hot croissants, an endless supply of scones, muffins, cardamom spice snails, cookies of all kinds, cupcakes, fresh fruit tarts, rustic baked tarts and so much more. Since our travels in Europe, we love a fresh baguette smothered in good butter with a layer of thin sliced cured meat. Yes! We will make that for you! As well as a plethora of café items: salads (highlighting produce from local friend’s farms), soups, quick grab lunches and, of course, crusty bread. All our sliced sandwich breads and sourdough loaves are available daily along with holiday breads. We want to be the town bakery!

From the outset, we have spent most of our time and energy perfecting the ‘baker’ aspect of The Baker and The Cakemaker. We feel, and our community agrees, that we have mastered our bread game and are ready to include “cakemaker” as an equally fruitful aspect of our business, offering cakes for celebrations and for ‘just because’ occasions. A few of our most popular cakes include Meyer lemon cake (piled high with toasted meringue), triple chocolate cake (coated in dark chocolate fudge frosting), and an original: cardamom spice cake. Our new location allows us to expand in this area.

The Baker and the Cakemaker has been baking your bread fresh for ten years now, expanding our deliveries through-out Placer, Sacramento, Nevada, and El Dorado counties. We see this new growth as a way to keep the baking we do creative and interesting for ourselves and our amazing staff. Not only that, we will be generating new jobs in this community and offering unique avenues of nourishment to our customers through thoughtful, farm-fresh offerings. We have worked hard and feel grateful to have the opportunity to offer our dream to the community.
